You are here: life - Birth

A new baby brings love, hope and happiness to parents, family and the whole community.

We would be delighted to help you arrange a baby-naming for your little girl. This may be held in synagogue on Shabbat; the congregation loves it. Or we can create a short service of celebration at your home.

Alternatively, we would be happy to help you find a mohel and arrange a brit milah (circumcision) for your baby boy.

Please contact the Synagogue office for any of this information, and in any event, please kindly tell the office about your exciting news. We would like to put a mazal tov (a note of congratulations), in our Newsletter and on our notice board.

We would also like to welcome you to the various events we hold for families with new babies (including bi-monthly parent and baby friendly early Friday night services followed by a meal at the rabbi’s home). Click here for more information.

Babies need so much stuff! We run a baby pool of equipment and clothes. If you would like to borrow from, or give to, the Baby Pool, click here for more information.

Can we offer you other practical help? Babies are wonderful, but caring for them can be exhausting, stressful and sometimes lonely. Please call the Synagogue office if you would like to contact our Network  group. Or, if you would simply like a Synagogue member to phone you and introduce you to other members of the community at a similar life stage, please feel free to email Debbie Mallandaine.
